JAA Collaboration Project / Fraudulent advertising and advertising fraud – Differences between the two and the trust and transparency that the advertising industry should build

This session will discuss the issues of “fraudulent advertising” and “advertising fraud” that the advertising industry faces. Fraudulent advertising involves deceiving consumers by impersonating celebrities. On the other hand, advertising fraud is the act of fraudulently depriving advertisers of their advertising fees, and causes damage to advertisers through click falsification.
Recently, there have been an increasing number of cases in which these two completely different things are being confused, and the Japan Advertisers Association has asked us about where the root of the problem lies and what the industry should do together to improve transparency and reliability. We will explore how to build a sustainable advertising ecosystem for the healthy development of the advertising industry.
