Amazon surveys advertising use by small and medium-sized businesses: advertising investments account for roughly half
On September 5th, Amazon announced the results of a survey on the actual use of advertising by small and medium-sized Japanese businesses. The survey found that 49% of average small and medium-sized Japanese businesses are currently investing in advertising, while 70% are considering investing in advertising in the future.
The survey was conducted by a third-party research company from February to March 2024. It targeted 4,000 companies around the world, including 300 in Japan.
Advertising is targeted both offline and online.
When asked why they no longer use advertising despite having used it in the past, 40% cited “budget constraints” and 35% cited “lack of return on investment.”
When asked about their top priority when using advertising, 75% of respondents answered “attaining new customers and leads.”
