American monthly consumer magazine Consumer Reports is said to have a strong influence on car sales in the United States.
It is characterized by ranking products based on its own tests, evaluations by experts, questionnaires to owners, and fair evaluation by not posting advertisements of general companies, and many Americans like this. It seems that they shop based on the evaluation of magazines.
The Consumer Report announced on November 15, 2022, ‘Reliability Ranking by Automobile Brand’.
This ranking is based on collecting and researching data on more than 300,000 vehicle models from 2000 to 2022, scoring and ranking automakers/brands with sufficient data.
“Toyota” ranked first in the ranking, Toyota’s luxury car brand “Lexus” ranked second, and the German automaker “BMW” ranked third. Four of the top five brands are Japanese manufacturers, with Mazda in 4th place and Honda in 5th place.
The “reliability ranking by car brand” from 1st to 24th is as follows.

In the ranking, “Subaru” was ranked 7th, “Acura”, a luxury car brand developed by Honda for the overseas market, was ranked 8th, and “Nissan” was ranked 15th. The manufacturer/brand is Japanese.
In the “Reliability Ranking by Automobile Brand”, four Japanese manufacturers/brands ranked in the top 5, beating out well-known automobile manufacturers/brands such as those from the United States and Germany. Received high marks.
