[ベンガルール 25日 ロイター] – On the 25th, a worldwide outage occurred in the popular conversation app “ WhatsApp ” under the umbrella of US Meta Platforms. Users in Asia, the UK, South Africa and Europe continue to report problems sending and receiving texts and videos.

As of 4:50 p.m. Japan time, more than 68,000 users in the UK had reported the problem, according to the problem reporting site Downdetector. There are 19,000 reported cases in Singapore and 15,000 in South Africa.

The app has become an important means of communication for homes and businesses, and a multi-hour outage last October hit asset trading, from cryptocurrencies to oil.

A Meta spokesperson said, “We are currently aware of some issues with messaging and are working to restore them as soon as possible.”
