JAGAT Seminar “Latest Trends and Examples of Free Papers 2023 – Advertisement and Publishing System, From the First Issue of ‘Maebashi Shimbun me bu ku’ -” Held on July 20th at the seminar room of the Japan Institute of Printing Technology and online.

The Japan Printing Technology Association (JAGAT) will hold a seminar on the General Printing Research Group on July 20 (Thursday) “Latest trends and examples of free papers 2023 – Advertisement and publishing system, from the first issue of “Maebashi Shimbun me bu ku” -” will be held in the Japan Printing Technology Association seminar room and online hybrid.

The purpose of the event is that during the corona crisis, advertising expenses from the major advertisers in the food, tourism, and beauty industries have shrunk, and free papers have struggled more than ever due to soaring paper costs. The search for a sustainable publishing system continues, and with the corona crisis subsiding and the economy bottoming out, a survey by Dentsu and JAGAT has begun to see a phase of suspension and closure of free papers, changes in paper space, and new launches. .

“Maebashi Shimbun me bu ku” is a free paper that was launched out of fear that residents would not be able to get the information they truly needed, even as smart cities progressed. The paper will consist of high-quality articles and photographs of local people, companies, and places, using advertisements from local companies as a resource, and will be linked with the web.

In this seminar, including the case of “Maebashi Shimbun me bu ku”, we will consider the sustainability of free papers and the changing role they play in the local community.
