It has been revealed that the cousin of Sato Keimin (23), a forward for the Japanese national U-23 (under 23) soccer team who will be competing in the Paris Olympics, is an extremely popular idol, causing a wave of surprise.
In his profile posted on the official website of the Japan Football Association, in the section “24 Questions” under “Tell us some secrets about yourself that you’ve never told before,” he wrote “My cousin is Jesse,” who is a member of SixTONES. He also listed Jesse along with Ayaka Miyoshi and KEZIJU as his favorite celebrities and artists.
The fact that Sato followed Jesse on social media became a hot topic online, with some saying, “The mystery has been solved.” Other comments included, “Is this for real?”, “Astonishing,” “The most surprising thing is how similar their faces are,” “There are some parts of their faces that are vaguely similar,” “It’s so amazing it’s come full circle and it’s so funny,” and “Sato Keisuke and Jesse are cousins, it’s scary.”
Sato has a Colombian father and a Japanese mother. After graduating from Jissen Gakuen, he went on to Meiji University and was selected for the U-22 Japan national team for the first time in October 2021. In August 2023, he left the Meiji University soccer club and joined Bremen (Germany).
Jesse’s father is American and his mother is Japanese. He joined Johnny’s Entertainment in 2006. He debuted as a member of SixTONES in 2020 and made his first appearance at the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen in the same year. He made his first appearance in a TV drama series in 2022 in TV Asahi’s “Hajime wa Pa”. He was appointed this year’s leader in the group’s traditional rock-paper-scissors decision. He also revealed that he is a “distant relative” of Hey! Say! JUMP’s Inoo Kei.
