Sadaharu Aoki

Born in 1968 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. After working at Chandon in Aoyama, he moved to Paris alone in 1989. After building up his career at “Jean Mier”, “Restaurant Méditerranée”, and “Restaurant Gerarde” in Switzerland, he won the Charles Proust Trophy Taste Category in France in 1995. In 1998, he opened an atelier in Paris. In 2001, he opened his long-awaited store, Patisserie Sadaharu Aoki Paris, in the 6th arrondissement of Saint-Germain in Paris.

In 2003, we opened our second store in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. In 2008, a third store opened in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. In 2007, he became a French member of Relais Desserts, the world’s best confectionery organization. In 2011, he was selected as France’s Best Pastry Chef, and has won the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Culinary Master’s Award, the Salon du Chocolat Award, and the Paris City Hall Award. Selected as one of France’s top 5 chocolatiers. In 2018, he received the highest award for the fifth time, “LES INCONTOURNABLES” (newly established in 2014, the highest award given to chocolatiers higher than “Awards”) at the Salon du Chocolat’s competition. This marks the fifth consecutive year of highest ranking and the eighth consecutive year of high evaluation.
