If you want to move abroad, South Korea might be the place for you. After all, the population due to immigration has increased rapidly by 40 times in the past 30 years.
There are countries that accept people immigrating from overseas, and countries that are easy for people to live in. The ease with which people from other countries can immigrate to these countries is expressed in the ranking of “Countries with Increased Population of Foreigners” published by William Russell, an insurance company. The top countries in the results are as follows:
*() indicates the increase in the foreign population over the 30 years from 1990 to 2020
The ranking compares the population of foreign residents in each country over a 30-year period between 1990 and 2020. They are arranged in order of population growth.
As a result, South Korea came in first place. In 1990, there were only 43,247 foreigners living in the country, but in 2020 that number increased to 1,728,182. This is a sharp increase of approximately 39 times. Although South Korea was not originally a country with a large number of immigrants, it ranked first in the ranking because of the large increase in the number of foreign residents.
Other countries where the foreign population has skyrocketed are Colombia and Chile. Colombia is popular among immigrants because housing is affordable and citizenship can be obtained in just five years. Although the cost of living is low in Chile, the quality of life is high, and many people relocate there after retiring.
If you are thinking of moving abroad, you may find it interesting to refer to this ranking.
