Fast Fitness Japan April-June net profit down 4%: Nihon Keizai Shimbun

Fast Fitness Japan(Fast Fitness Japan) announced on the 15th that the consolidated financial results for the April-June 2022 period were 517 million yen, a decrease of 4% year-on-year. The total number of members reached a record high due to the opening of a new sports gym “Anytime Fitness” and sales increased, but costs such as advertising expenses to acquire members increased.

Sales increased by 14% to 3.5 billion yen, and operating income decreased slightly to 766 million yen. Sales were the highest ever for the same period. The company has opened stores in 19 locations, including Utsunomiya City, bringing the total number of stores to 1,019 as of the end of June. As of the end of June, the total number of members increased by 16% year-on-year to 690,000, a record high, and the average number of members per store also increased by 5%. However, personnel expenses and advertising expenses increased due to the increase in hiring due to the opening of new stores.

Consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 2011 remain unchanged from the previous forecast, with net sales increasing 7% year-on-year to 14 billion yen and net income decreasing 12% to 1.5 billion yen. Plan to open stores in 130 locations.
