YouTube is launching three new tools for learners and creators on September 8th.announced.
YouTube Player for Education, an embedded video player for educational apps, does not display ads, external links or recommendations. It will initially partner with established US EdTech organizations such as Edpuzzle, Purdue University, and Purdue University Global to provide this functionality.
In 2023, qualified creators will be able to create free and paid courses, providing “deep, structured learning” to viewers. Viewers who choose a paid course can play videos in the background without ads.
The third is a quiz feature, which helps creators interact with viewers by allowing creators to create short quizzes that help viewers test their knowledge.
The courses feature will be available in beta in the US and South Korea first, before expanding to other countries. The quiz feature will be available in the coming months and will be available to all creators who have a “community” tab on their channel from 2023.
