European nonprofit filed complaint over Google sending unsolicited advertising emails – CNET

European non-profit data privacy advocacy group about Google, saying that sending advertising emails without consent in “Gmail” violates the decision of the European Court of JusticepetitiondidReutersreported on August 24, local time.

Noyb’s general counsel, Romain Robert, said: “It’s really simple. Spam is commercial email sent without your consent, which is illegal. Just because it’s made by an email provider[Google]doesn’t make it legal.”
