Neen, a Balinese jewelry that coexists with nature, has arrived in Japan and was worn by the 3rd generation Bachelorette on a popular reality show – WWDJAPAN

Bali-based jewelry “NIIN” has arrived in Japan. The brand was founded in 2009 by Jeanine Hsu with the concept of “walking lightly on the earth.” Jewelry made from natural materials such as shells and wood has a crafty feel. The “Gentle Diamond” collection, which uses new lab-grown diamonds, is worn by Aki Takei on the popular reality show “Bachelorette Japan.” The opportunity to be hired was during the filming of the same series in Bali, where Sue met the producer and showed him her collection, which led to her being hired.

Jewelry that coexists with nature using recycled materials

The founder, Sue, was born in London. After graduating from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, she worked as a fashion designer for brands such as VIVIENNE WESTWOOD, and sold jewelry imported from India at London’s Portobello Market. I was doing it. She says, “Seeing the amount of waste produced in the fashion industry, I wanted to start a brand that coexists with nature.” After moving to Hong Kong, she founded the jewelry brand “Neen” in 2009. We offer eco-friendly handmade jewelry using natural materials. “Almost all the materials we use are recycled. We procure things like shells from restaurants and scrap wood from furniture factories to make jewelry,” he says. Inspired by jewelry designer John Hardy’s Green School in Bali, which practices education aimed at a sustainable future, she took the opportunity of the coronavirus to move her base to Bali. “My dream was to live in Bali. The designs are in Bali and the products are produced in Southeast Asia.”

Approximately 80% of the jewelry offered by Neen is accessories and 20% is fine jewelry. All jewelry is designed in Bali and produced in Southeast Asia. Like our accessories, we use environmentally friendly materials for our fine jewelry, including lab-grown diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and emeralds. The main price range is 30,000 to 50,000 yen for accessories and 400,000 to 800,000 yen for fine jewelry. Currently, it is sold at Selfridges in London, the major duty-free DFS Group, and the luxury resort AMAN.
